First Avant 220 tool carrier in the UK chosen by portable toilet hirer
A Lincolnshire toilet hire company has taken delivery of the very first Avant 220 compact tool carrier in the UK from local dealer, Fentons of Bourne, complete with pallet forks, bucket and front and rear tow balls.
Aqualoos, also based near Bourne, was founded in 1999 by Harvey and Nicola Knipe and has grown its fleet steadily to a current figure of 100 portable loos plus three trailer-mounted superloo units.
Prior to the arrival of the Avant, Aqualoos had been using an ancient telehandler for loading the single loos onto transport trailers, but it was not only becoming increasingly unreliable but also proving to be far too large to operate safely in the confines of the company's storage yard.
Mr. Knipe first discovered Avant whilst purchasing a batch of loos and one was used to load his own trailer with great ease. He could immediately see the benefits of its ultra compact dimensions and was delighted to learn later that the local dealer was right on his doorstep and a company with which his family had already enjoyed a long-term relationship.
Commenting on his new 220 model, Mr. Knipe said: "The little Avant is the perfect size for handling and loading portable toilet units onto our trailers which we can now also move around using either of the tow balls. Also, when we have a large number of units going to one site, we plan to take the machine with us to unload and place the loos in position so that we will no longer have the arduous task of manhandling them".
The new 220 is a ground-up redesign of the outgoing model offering more power, more stability and more options. Also, all machines in this latest 200 Series feature the same simple-to-use multi-connector coupling system for the wide choice of hydraulic attachments available from Avant.
